Where is the the City of Arts and Sciences?

The City of Arts and Sciences is situated in the old riverbed of the Turia River, which has is now a stunning green space known as the Turia Gardens. Its location makes it easily accessible from various parts of the city.

You can reach it by walking, cycling, or using public transport. The nearest metro station is Alameda, and there are numerous bus lines that also service the area, making it convenient to get to no matter where you’re staying in Valencia.

L’Oceanogràfic

The largest aquarium in Europe, L’Oceanogràfic features marine ecosystems from around the globe, including a stunning underwater tunnel that allows visitors to see sharks and rays up close.

Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe

This interactive science museum is one of the best things to do with kids in Valencia, and is a great day out for all ages. There are hands-on exhibits, workshops, and live demonstrations, and kids can learn about everything from physics to biology.

Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía

This beautiful opera house hosts a variety of performances, including operas, concerts, and theatrical productions. Even if you don’t attend a show, the architecture is worth admiring from the outside.

How much does it cost to visit the the City of Arts and Sciences?

Visiting the City of Arts and Sciences can fit various budgets. Individual tickets for each attraction vary, but here’s a rough breakdown of costs:

  • L’Oceanogràfic: Approximately €31 for adults, €22 for children ages 4-12.

If you want to avoid the hassle of parking and navigating city traffic you can jump on a bus from various points around the city.

When is the best time to visit?

The best time to visit the City of Arts and Sciences is during the spring (March to June) or fall (September to November) when the weather is mild, and there are fewer crowds.

Summer can be quite hot in Valencia, often too hot and humid too enjoy outdoor activities. Visiting on a weekday can help you avoid large groups, especially in the peak tourist season.

It’s also a great place to have a wander around of an evening, a really beautiful sight with all of the buildings lit up.
